YEREVAN. – The volume of natural gas being imported to Armenia from Russia increased by 22.3 percent in 2012, comprising 1,967.2 million cubic meters against the 1,609.1 million cubic meters in 2011, the ArmRusGazprom Company informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Over the course of the aforesaid period, ArmRusGazprom sold 1,609 million cubic meters of natural gas, which is 4.8 percent more than the respective volume in 2011.

Also, the natural gas use by Armenia’s energy and industry sectors increased by 23.7  and 2 percent respectively, as compared to the previous year, and constituted 231.9 and 254.7 million cubic meters correspondingly.    

The natural gas use by Armenia’s residents and other gas consumers, however, reduced by 1.6 and 12.1 percent in that order, in the aforementioned period, and made up 542 and 162.4 million cubic meters respectively.
