YEREVAN.- Armenian presidential candidate Andreas Ghukasyan, who is on a hunger strike, is in normal state of health. He can talk, but communication with journalists is limited, said the coordinator of Ghukasyan’s electoral headquarter Armen Grigoryan.

When the journalists of Armenian News-NEWS.am were visiting, Ghukasyan’s wife, Anahit Tarkhanyan, was by his side. She told reporters that she is not trying to stop her husband and supports him in everything. When asked, how long this can last, she said ‘as long as it takes’.

Also, just at the time of our visit, the MPs of ARF Dashnaktsutyun--Artsvik Minasyan, Aghvan Vardanyan and Armen Rustamyan--were also visiting the presidential candidate. First they talked to Ghukasyan and  then to the ambulance doctors.

MP Armen Rustamyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am that the doctors are very much concerned about the health of the candidate.

“You can live drinking water only 10 days, but after that, serious processes start that may not be noticed, but can cause serious health problems,” he said.

On January 21, presidential candidate Andreas Ghukasyan went on a hunger strike in front of the National Academy of Science.
