YEREVAN.- Armenian presidential candidate, head of National Accord party Aram Harutyunyan applied to the Central Electoral Commission to withdraw his candidacy (photos).

Harutyunyan said he would not wait for Paruyr Hayrikyan’s decision on petitioning to the Constitutional Court. In case Hayrikyan’s application is approved, Harutyunyan will have no time left to give up the campaign.

Head of National Accord party said his one-day hunger strike had a goal to call on the candidates to withdraw their candidacies and leave Serzh Sargsyan alone during the election campaign.

Harutyunyan application will be discussed during the evening session of the Central Electoral Commission.
