make preferableYEREVAN. – Ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) held a regular meeting of the executive body on Friday evening.
Internal policy issues, including dismissal of Syunik Governor Suren Khachatryan, were on the agenda, spokesperson for RPA, Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov told reporters.
However, Sharmazanov said that new candidates for the post of the governor were not discussed.
During the session, the speech of President Serzh Sargsyan made during the recent meeting of the National Security Council was presented. The RPA members discussed Armenia’s foreign policy challenges.
“RPA position on Karabakh remains the same. We support peaceful settlement of the conflict and will do our best to achieve international recognition of Nagorno-Karabakh,” he said.
Asked whether they discussed postponement of the meeting of Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders, Sharmazanov said the matter was not discussed.
The RPA members neither increase in gas price, nor offshore scandal involving Armenian PM Tigran Sargsyan.
