STEPANAKERT. –Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), or Artsakh, President Bako Sahakyan on Sunday arrived in Belgium on a working visit.
On Monday, Sahakyan participated in the Third Conference of the European Armenians, which kicked off in Brussels, informs the Central Information Department of the Office of the NKR President.
In his welcoming remarks the NKR President underscored such events for the Armenians living in Europe, the Armenian organizations functioning there, and for the ongoing strengthening and deepening their relations with the Homeland.
As per the President, cooperation with a variety of Diaspora-Armenian organizations is of special importance for Artsakh and, in this context, a special attention is focused on the European direction.
President Sahakyan stressed that the constantly developing and changing world dictates the need to make corresponding adjustments in the Diaspora-Artsakh cooperation, maintaining and further cementing traditional cooperation, and also elaborating new directions and ideas.
In this respect, Bako Sahakyan highlighted the need to carry out a coordinated work, between the Diaspora-Armenian organizations and the respective agencies of Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia, toward the international recognition of Artsakh, establishment of bilateral relations, making Artsakh more recognizable, presenting it as a safe and stably developing country, proper presentation of the most attractive domains and projects for foreign investments, rapid response to the adversary's provocative policy based on falsehood and lies.
Catholicos Aram I of the Great House of Cilicia of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Primate of the French Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church Archbishop Norvan Zakarian, Armenian National Assembly Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan, NKR Deputy PM Artur Aghabekyan, FM Karen Mirzoyan, and several other officials also attended this event.
