New railway spur is planned between Turkey and Nakhchivan. For this purpose Turkey will make a market research on Kars-Igdir-Nakhchivan, said the head of Azerbaijani MoT Department of Transport Policy and Economy Sadraddin Mammadov.

According to him, the road to Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic will be the continuation of Baku-Tbilisi-Kars branch. He expressed hope that Kars-Igdir-Nakhchivan railroad will be built and put into operation shortly, allowing the republic to link with Turkey through a 7 km spur, ANS reports.

The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars new branch construction is underway as scheduled. In addition, the reconstruction of a road in Georgia as well as Akhalkalaki station is launched.
