“Ideas voiced by Araz Azimov shed light on the issues at the Karabakh negotiating table. Deputy Minister raised the issues that are currently negotiated,” said Chief of International Relations Department of Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Novruz Mammadov, 1news.az reports.

Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov stated that Armenia asked some time to withdraw from Lachin and Kelbajar. Mammadov noted that these proposals were drafted by OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs. “In fact Armenia asked some time both to withdraw from 2 regions and for other issues raised by Azimov. Asked for two weeks, but after two months there is still no response,” Mammadov added.

He also emphasized that Co-Chairs are constantly in touch with both sides. “We might get the information about the parties’ postures. The raised issue is the most optimal way for conflict resolution. There is no other solution and Armenia should clearly realize it. This is an opportunity for the world community and heads of co-chairing states. Armenia should be pressurized and try to tackle this problem,” he underlined.

Asked whether the war by 2010 end is ensued, Mammadov replied, “It is difficult to forecast the war, though we are always ready to liberate our territories by all means.”
Mammadov stressed that OSCE MG Co-Chairs are working on the issues introduced by Azimov in Vienna. “They should compel Armenia to agree with drafted project,” he concluded.
