YEREVAN. – With Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu stepping down, Turkey will become more unpredictable because President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will be the sole leader of the country, Armenian turkologist Andranik Ispiryan stated at a press conference on Friday.

In his words, with Davutoğlu resigning, the infamous attempt of normalizing Armenian-Turkish relations has ended.

“The ‘architect’ of normalizing Armenian-Turkish relations was Davutoğlu himself,” Ispiryan noted. “He was coordinating all this when he was still the foreign affairs advisor of the [then Turkish] PM.

“And he was appointed Foreign Minister seven years ago on these days, and they prepared—with the Armenian side—the well-known protocols, which are worthless after Davutoğlu leaving.”

Andranik Ispiryan added that, unlike Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Ahmet Davutoğlu is a quite educated and balanced politician.
