October 8, 2010 marked the launch of Armenia Fund’s 13th International Telethon campaign. The live 12 hour program is set to air on Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 2010 and will raise funds for the development of drinking and irrigation water systems in Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, Armenian fund press service informed NEWS.am.
At the reception hosted at the residence of Armenia Fund U.S. Western Region, organization’s Chairman, Ara Aghishian noted that shortage of water is a serious problem in Karabakh affecting over 70,000 people living in 200 villages. “Armenia Fund, along with hundreds of thousands of its supporters worldwide, will be raising funds during the Telethon 2010 international campaign to provide Artsakh villages with a round-the-clock supply of clean drinking and irrigation water,” he said.
Grigor Hovhanissian, Armenian Consul General in Los Angeles offered his commendations to Armenia Fund and applauded its ongoing nation-building projects in Armenia and Artsakh.
