Sudan’s president Omar al-Bashir will not arrive to Istanbul for COMSEC conference which is due today.
The president — wanted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) — is indicted for war crimes and crimes against humanity in the western region of Darfur.
“EU pressurized Turkey to either stop al-Bashir from attending the OIC summit or arrest him upon arrival,” Al Jazeera e-source reads Nov. 9.
The Daily Telegraph describes the president as “a man who wants to stay at the top – no matter what it costs his people.”
As NEWS.am informed early, OIC is an association of 56 Islamic states promoting Muslim solidarity in economic, social, and political affairs.
