In 2016, for the second time, a delegation of the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry visited Armenia. And when these regular contacts take place, definitely there will be some progress in Indian investments, maybe.
Are there any planned visits to Armenia [from India]?
Yes. In 2017, we are planning; we will work through diplomatic channels to plan the visit of Armenian President to India. And, also, the Indian external affairs minister’s visit to Armenia. We are working on the dates; the dates are not yet confirmed.
What about Indian New Year traditions? How do they celebrate New Year in India?
In India, the New Year is celebrated just like anywhere in the world because everything has become so common. For example, India is not a Christian country, but so many [Indian] youngsters are celebrating Christmas. My daughter, for several years, puts a Christmas tree ever year. People [in India] are celebrating the New Year on the 1st of January because we follow the Gregorian calendar. It is like anywhere in the world. People are going out, having parties, some musical programs, cultural Bollywood nights are held.
And [what are] your New Year wishes to Armenian people?
I would like to wish Armenian people and their loved ones health and prosperity, happiness and peace in New Year and always.
