YEREVAN. – Armenian Defense Minister really hopes that in the case of victory of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) in the country’s parliamentary elections, he will be entrusted to continue his work in the Ministry of Defense.

He considers the post of Defense Minister is a key and very important position in the system of the state administration of Armenia, into account existing challenges and threats, Vigen Sargsyan, taking who heads the RPA proportional representation list, stated during the meeting with Russian reporters.

“I see a huge field for work and I really hope that there will be time to implement defense reforms that are a challenge of the time and greatly affect the country's defense capability. We have many questions to be solved,”Sargsyan said.

According to him, taking into account the obligatory military service in Armenia, it is necessary to do something that these two years were not only a duty given to homeland, but also an opportunity for  young people to receive additional education and develop skills.

Sargsyan also noted that there are many things to do to continue increasing the fighting capacity of the Armenian Armed Forces.
