YEREVAN. - The Republican Party of Armenia has been caught when using dope, Edmon Marukyan, who tops the proportional candidate list of Yelk (Way Out) bloc, said at a march held in Yerevan Thursday.
“Now we are near the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), since the application of Yelk on catching RPA when using dope is being considered at CEC. In sports we have fair competition and the strongest one wins. The strongest is the one who has practiced much, who is healthy, wakes up early, doesn’t eat kebab every day and is just. Knowing that there is someone using dope among us, we took that issue revealed by a civil society organization to the CEC.
When we say they are distributing money, they say there are no facts proving that. When we say they are using school principals, they say schools have nothing to do here. Now they have been caught when using dope,” Marukyan said.
In his words, school principals have provided different services to the authorities in exchange for their position.
Referring to the election bribes, Marukyan said: “The police tell us to write an application, noting when and where X gave money to Y and when they should catch them. But if we have to do all this, why do you then keep so many operative workers? We are not catchers of money distributors: that is the job of law enforcement officers. That is, distribution of money is allowed at a state level.”
