YEREVAN. – Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian on Friday received a group of Members of the European Parliament (MEPs), who are in Armenia to take part in the European Parliament observation mission in Sunday’s parliamentary election in the country.
They exchanged views on the preparations for this voting, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed Armenian News-NEWS.am. In this connection, FM Nalbandian added that the Armenian government continues to do everything possible to conduct elections in accordance with international standards.
Also, the interlocutors discussed the steps toward the strengthening of Armenia-European Union (EU) relations. In this context, they expressed satisfaction with the completion of negotiations on the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
At the request of the guests, Nalbandian presented Armenia’s outlook on several regional and international maters. Also, he briefed the MEPs on the ongoing joint efforts, by Armenia and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Co-Chair countries (Russia, US, and France), to achieve a pacific resolution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
