YEREVAN. – The Citizen Observer initiative on Monday issued a statement in connection with Sunday’s National Assembly election in Armenia.

Accordingly, the initiative’s observers on Sunday carried out observation mission at 1,521 election precincts throughout the country, and during which they recorded 2,131 cases of electoral fraud.

As per the Citizen Observer, despite expectations that the new electoral system in Armenia would restore public confidence in elections in the country, this was not the case.

Also, the initiative noted that it had serious concerns that Sunday’s voting did not reflect the expression of free will by the citizenry of Armenia. 

At the same time, it informed that the Citizen Observer observation mission was continuing to process analyze, and appeal the respective evidence.
