Preliminary data on the identity and reasons behind the death of an Armenian man and his two-year-old son in Chelyabinsk city of Russia have become known. 

Deputy President of the Union of Armenians of Russia, German Anayants, told Armenian News – NEWS.am that according to the preliminary information the man is Alik Hakobyan, who died from drug overdose.

The man disappeared along with his child after going for a walk on May 1.

On May 28, local residents found out a suspicious VAZ, which was parked in one of the yards of Shahumyan street. Smell of rotting flesh could be felt from the car. The bodies of the man and the boy were on the back seat of the car. According to the information, no traces of violence have been found on them.  

At the moment, the exact reason of father and son’s death is being ascertained. According to the witnesses, the 48-year-old man used drugs and was registered in an addiction center. Moreover, syringes with yet unidentified agent were found near his body. The victims were Armenian nationals.
