In one of his recent columns in OdaTV news website of Turkey, journalist Mahmut Alınak reflected on the Turkish authorities’ apathy toward Kars. 

The Turkish journalist stressed that unemployment in this town is very high, and those that leave Kars for work outside try not to come back.

Also, Alınak noted that numerous roads, which link Kars to surrounding villages, are dirt roads that were built from the time of the Armenians. 

“Is Kars paying the price of being an Armenia city in history?” asked the OdaTV journalist.
