A criminal case has been launched in the Second garrison unit of Armenia's General Military Investigative Department into the attempted murder of compulsory military serviceman by the adversary.

The case has been initiated on charges of attempted murder based on national, racial or religious hatred, or religious fanaticism.

The investigation is underway.

Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic/NKR) Defense Army serviceman Alik Avanesyan sustained gunshot wounds at about 12:55 pm on Tuesday, and as a result of the shots fired by Azerbaijan. He was immediately taken to a hospital.
