YEREVAN. – During its Cabinet meeting on Thursday, the government authorized ruling Republican Party of Armenia MP, former Prosecutor General Gevorg Kostanyan, as the country’s representative in relations with the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR).

Accordingly, in case of lawsuits from Armenian citizens, Kostanyan will represent Armenia as the respondent. Also, he will track the execution of the court decisions regarding Armenia.

To note, pursuant to Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan’s decision on May 17, Gevorg Kostanyan was relieved of his duties as the Armenian government representative before the ECtHR.
