YEREVAN. - The Investigative Committee of Armenia on Thursday launched a criminal case into the stabbing in Yerevan, which involved foreign nationals.
Late Wednesday evening the Investigative Committee was informed about two foreign nationals, who had been taken to a medical center with stab wounds, the press-service of the agency informed Armenian News - NEWS.am.
A criminal case was launched under Article 112(1) and 117 of the Criminal Code of Armenia. As it turned out two of the foreigners were Iraqi citizens. They have been recognized as victims.
The operational investigative and search operations established the identity of the alleged criminal, who is also an Iraqi citizen.
According to the preliminary investigation, the foreign nationals sustained bodily injuries at about 9:00 pm on Thursday during a quarrel with one of their compatriots, who absconded. The latter has been put on a wanted list.
