In 2016, the level of peace registered a positive growth in the world, in general, whereas a decline in Armenia, reported Voice of America Armenian Service.
According to the report which the Sydney-based Institute for Economics and Peace research organization publicized, the level of peace in the world recorded a 0.28 percent improvement in the year past.
But, as per the report, the level of peace declined in Armenia, primarily due to the four-day war in April 2016. As a result, Armenia and Azerbaijan are ranked 112th and 132nd, respectively, among 163 countries, in terms of the level of peace.
The report says that, after this war, military spending increased in Armenia and in Azerbaijan, alike. Accordingly, Azerbaijan and Armenia are 17th and 71st, correspondingly, in the world, in military spending per capita.
