YEREVAN. - According to the preliminary information, the accident involving 23 route bus near Lambada Bridge of Yerevan was caused by the driver’s poor health, Head of Transport and Communication Department of Yerevan Municipality, Henrik Navasardyan, told Armenian News – NEWS.am.

“The vehicle was in good repair. The driver, who is 60, is experienced, He passed the medical examination in the morning, only following which he went to work. He felt bad while driving and was not able to control the bus,” Navasardyan noted.

In his words, according to the preliminary information, there were 25 people in the bus, of which 10, including the driver, sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured, among which there were also children, have been hospitalized.

The official added that eight of the injured have already received medical assistance and discharged from hospital, while two of them—a child and a young girl—continue their treatment in hospitals. Their life is not threatened.

The accident took place at about 6:00 pm.
