In the event of Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic/NKR) Defense Army soldiers’ being wounded, the Artsakh military contacts first of all the parents of these servicemen, and the casualty notification process is done within minutes. 

NKR Defense Minister and Defense Army Commander Levon Mnatsakanyan told the above-said to journalists, reported Armenpress news agency. 

“There are cases when the parents of the soldier are abroad and it’s inappropriate for them to find out about their son’s death from news sites,” he added. “The Azerbaijani side [also] suffers losses, but no one publicizes this; they have adopted such media policy. We are trying to inform their society that their defense ministry is concealing about the losses.” 

And reflecting on the present-day situation along the line of contact and the avenues for resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Mnatsakanyan said: “We need to understand what we’re fighting for. Everything is motivated, and victory will be ours. Azerbaijan will gradually attempt to exacerbate the situation to inflict us damage. [But] we will do everything to deal the final blow, if needed.”   

Also, the Artsakh defense minister and defense army commander informed that they have done extensive work at the line of contact since April 2016, when Azerbaijan unleashed a large-scale military aggression against the NKR, and therefore their frontline is now under full control, thanks to a video monitoring system.
