The RA Presidential Control Service revealed gross violations in the activities of the RA Ministry of Justice.

Specifically, inspections revealed grave violations at the Water Resource Management Agency. Commission Chairman Hovhannes Hovsepsyan reported that 240 of the 540 transactions were effected with violations. The violations caused water misbalance in the Ararat basin. “That is water consumption exceeded the natural recharge of water resources,” Hovsepyan said.

The Commission also revealed violations by the Nature Protection Inspection. In the Ijevan national park alone 17 million AMD violations were committed. “Illegal felling of trees caused 165 million AMD damage, but the Inspection got only 6.1% of it compensated for. The relevant materials were not sent to the relevant agencies. The Inspection actually revealed only 40 of the 465 violations,” Hovsepyan said.

He also reported grave violations at the RA Ministry of Agriculture, specifically at the Armforest noncommercial organization. The Control Service revealed violations in rental businesses. Huge debts were revealed and compensated for. The Commission also revealed illegal felling of trees.

Hovsepyan assured the journalists that all the law breakers will be punished. The Ministry of Nature Protection is headed by Aram Harutyunyan, and the Ministry of Agriculture, by Gerasim Alaverdyan (Orinats Yerkir [Country of Law]) party. Despite numerous complaints about minister Alaverdyan’s activities, the Country of Law Party stated it was not going to recall its minister.
