As a result of the helicopter crash in Kostroma Oblast (province), everyone on board—including Saak Karapetyan, the Deputy Prosecutor General of Russia—were killed. The Investigative Committee of Russia has released a video from the crash site, Vesti reported.
The tragedy occurred on Wednesday at around 6:30pm, nearby a village. Those on board the chopper died of the injuries they sustained.
The helicopter was flying from Moscow to Ples, and then it was to head for the northwest.
The Kostroma Oblast governor’s press service informed that those on board the chopper were going hunting.
According to preliminary information, the helicopter had hit trees due to low visibility, and this had caused the crash.
In addition to Karapetyan, seasoned pilot Stanislav Mikhnov, and passenger Areg Arutyunyan also died in the crash.
A criminal case has been filed into this accident.
