The key objective of Armenia’s penitentiary institutions is to provide medical aid and services. This is what Armenia’s Ombudsman Arman Tatoyan said as he responded to MPs’ questions during the discussion on the 2018 Annual Report of the Ombudsman at the National Assembly of Armenia today.

According to him, doctors at correctional institutions are not professional.

Tatoyan stated that a penitentiary medical center has been established, but only by law.
