The participants of the annual conference of the heads of the central apparatus of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and diplomatic missions of Armenia abroad on Friday visited Gyumri, as reported the news service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.

During the visit, at the initiative of Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Suren Papikyan and Minister of Foreign Affairs Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, the heads of the diplomatic missions of Armenia held a discussion meeting with the governors and community heads of Armenia’s provinces at Emily Aregak Center in Gyumri. The meeting began with welcoming remarks by Minister of Foreign Affairs Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Suren Papikyan.

In his speech, Minister Mnatsakanyan reaffirmed the willingness of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to enrich the knowledge about the development of provinces. “I am very grateful for the fact that the governors of the provinces responded and are forming a part of this dialogue. This is extremely important and practical for me. During our discussions, we often highlight a very important principle, that is, our work is practical and applicable — serving foreign relations for Armenia’s domestic agenda, the country’s priorities and best implementation of the government’s program.”

The foreign minister voiced hope that every ambassador is already taking action in his or her respective field to localize the general knowledge and record applicable outcomes within the scope of bilateral and multilateral relations.

Minister Papikyan presented the Armenian government’s priorities for proportionate territorial development in Armenia and emphasized that it is necessary to earmark the right targets and the right working style in order to have proportionate development of the provinces and communities.

In his welcoming remarks, Mayor of Gyumri Samvel Balasanyan considered the holding of the event in Gyumri significant and voiced hope that the heads of Armenia’s diplomatic missions will also contribute to the development of the province and the city of Gyumri with their activities.

During the meeting, the representatives of the provinces introduced the heads of Armenia’s diplomatic missions to the development programs of their respective provinces and their visions for cooperation with the administrative-territorial units of other countries.
