I only feel proud on this day, which marks the 28th anniversary of the Independence of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic). This is what Levon Kocharyan, son of second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan, told journalists today.

“I feel very proud that our nation was able to achieve such a victory and shaped the independence of Artsakh, and I am also proud that my father was directly involved in that,” he stated.

As far as Robert Kocharyan’s trial is concerned, Levon Kocharyan said the following: “For over a year, our struggle has been against injustice and to put an end to the unlawful acts against Robert Kocharyan as soon as possible.”

When asked about the challenges facing Artsakh today, he said the international community must first and foremost cope with the fact that there are two Armenian states, and the first country to do that is Azerbaijan. “The people of Artsakh shaped their independence through their struggle,” he said.
