Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's government held a meeting today to discuss the problems of the disaster zone, Armenian Government’s press service reported.

The chair of the Urban Development Committee Vahagn Vermishyan and responsible representatives of the Committee reported on the implementation of the recommendations given during the June and July discussions with the Prime Minister on the issues of the disaster zone. In order to understand the preference of the form of support, a survey was conducted with the provincial governors and the beneficiaries according to which the beneficiaries are mainly inclined to approach the amount of money allocated to them and decide whether to buy an apartment, build a new house in the village or finish the construction.

Prime Minister Pashinyan noted that the problems in the disaster zone settlements should be approached step by step, and the plans regarding the Gyumri, Vanadzor, Spitak, Stepanavan dwellings should be considered in the context of urban development logic. The head of government instructed to continue discussions on this issue with the participation of all interested parties and to explore the possibilities of applying a general mechanism.
