Armenia’s Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Armenia Tian Erlong.

As reported the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, greeting the Ambassador, the Deputy Prime Minister attached importance to the positive dynamics of the development of the relations between China and Armenia and voiced hope that it will be possible to further deepen the cooperation through combined efforts, particularly in the trade and economy sectors.

Expressing gratitude for the reception, Ambassador Tian Erlong said China is interested in the development of small and medium enterprises and infrastructures in Armenia and presented the main fields in which it is possible to expand mutual cooperation. Highlighting the historic position of Armenia on the Silk Road, the Ambassador attached importance to Armenia’s involvement in the Belt and Road Initiative.

The interlocutors exchanged views on the opportunities for the deepening of cooperation in spheres of mutual interest and attached importance to intensification of the activities of the Armenian-Chinese Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation and the inclusion of current issues in the agenda for the Commission’s session.
