The Communist Party of Armenia calls on the government to maintain the strong ties between Russia and Armenia which are of vital importance for national security and to not give in to the temptations of the US and the West which have never brought peace and prosperity to any country. This is stated in the statement issued by the Communist Party of Armenia.

The statement particularly reads as follows:

“Supporting nation-building, an integral and tremendous part of which are the Russian-Armenian relations, the Communist Party of Armenia is deeply concerned about the recent events.

Granting political asylum to Shishkin, who is known for his anti-Armenian activities, causes a blow to the centuries-old friendship between our two nations. The Prime Minister’s interview to a French newspaper in which an attempt was made to relieve Armenia of “historical clichés” is nothing but a ticking bomb in the relations between Russia and Armenia.

Such actions are destroying the shield of the country, and this will lead to devastating consequences.”
