The Pakistani authorities have reported the first death from a coronavirus, Dunya News said.

The health minister of Punjab Yasmin Rashid said at a press conference that a patient who arrived from Iran was taken to a hospital in critical condition, RIA Novosti reported.

Rashid also reported the number of coronavirus patients in Punjab has increased to six.

Speaking at a press conference, the minister advised avoiding unnecessary trips and staying home to curb the spread of the virus.

A total of 195 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Pakistan.

The WHO said on Monday 11 that coronavirus has now become a pandemic.

According to the latest WHO data, over 167 thousand people have already been infected in the world, and the death toll has reached over 6.6 thousand.
