Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that ratification of the Armenian-Turkish Protocols in the Turkish Parliament is impossible as long as the Karabakh conflict remains unsettled, 1 news.az reports.
During his meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Erdogan said that Turkey clearly informed the leaders of three OSCE co-chairing states of its stance and asked them to intensify their activities in Karabakh peace process. He also noted that the issue was discussed during RF President Dmitry Medvedev’s visit to Ankara and with French President Nicolas Sarkozy a week before.
The Turkish Premier underlined that Armenia does not wish to be sensitive on the issue. Though four months passed since the Sochi meeting and Azerbaijan displays a constructive stance on the Madrid Principles, Ankara has not seen a similar approach from the Armenian side, Erdogan added.
Erdogan assured Ilham Aliyev that he was happy over the growth and development in Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan’s wealth is Turkey’s wealth, Azerbaijan’s development is Turkey’s development. Nothing can be better than coming to one’s brother’s home, the Turkish Premier said.
May 17 the Turkish Premier arrived on a day’s visit to Baku.
