The first session of the newly elected Vanadzor Council of Elders was scheduled for Friday, but it did not convene.

First, the acting secretary of the council staff read the decision of the administrative court of appeal, which, based on the request by the Bright Armenia Party, had applied an interim measure which during this time prohibits the Vanadzor Council of Elders from convening a meeting with a mayoral election agenda.

In addition, only 16 of the 33 members of the council were in attendance, and this means that the council meeting is not considered convened.

And a member of the "Mamikon Aslanyan" Faction announced: "With this decision, the ruling force is simply trying to take away the vote of the people of Vanadzor, which is supported by the Bright Armenia party that has not gained the trust of the people of Vanadzor."
