YEREVAN. – Oppositional Armenian National Congress (ANC) on Thursday issued a statement welcoming the landmark victory of the Libyan people and demanding official recognition of new Libyan government by Armenia.

"According to laws and logic of history, particularly, the history of modern times, another dictatorship of this world was toppled down, this time in Libya.

Libyan people won their freedom in a bitter and bloody struggle, despite the institutionalized dictatorship that used the country’s resources for strengthening and perpetuating its own power and consequently got deprived of political perception and ability to speak the political language.  

After Tunisia and Egypt, Libya was next in line to acquire legitimate authority, to introduce democracy, rule of law and become a free society for the benefit of every citizen. It is the inalienable right of all people of the world, regardless of the method of its implementation," reads the statement by ANC.
