MOSCOW. – The Karabakh problem can equitably be solved solely through political avenues, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev stated during his joint press conference, on Monday in Moscow, with Armenia’s President, Serzh Sargsyan.

During their meeting, the two heads of state exchanged views on the current state of affairs concerning settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh (NK) conflict. “I, personally, am confident that the NK problem can equitably be solved only through political avenues,” Russia’s president noted.

He recalled that in recent years many things have been done to that end, including with Russia’s involvement.

“It is necessary to still contribute to activities of the OSCE (Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe) Minsk Group, specifically in terms of organizing direct contacts between the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan,” Medvedev stated.
