Criminal proceedings have been initiated over the death of serviceman Edgar Sarkisovich Aleksanyan.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am was informed in the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia on September 2, it was reported that on the same day, around 10:10, the body of serviceman Edgar Sarkisovich Aleksanyan, according to preliminary data, with a fatal gunshot wound was found in the combat position of the defense zone of the N-th military unit of the Armenian Defense Ministry. Criminal proceedings have been initiated on this fact under Article 522, paragraph 2, part 3 of the Criminal Code of Armenia.

An investigation group has been formed. The external examination of the corpse revealed a gunshot wound in the chin area. No other traces of violence were recorded. A forensic medical examination has been appointed. The preliminary investigation continues.
