The plan is but one: the removal of the evil. I have presented all other details. I have presented the vision of the reconciliation government, what it should be and what it should do. Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, the leader of the opposition Sacred Struggle movement of Armenia, stated this in an interview with reporters at the National Assembly Monday.
"I even have presented our ideas about the future, coming Armenia. I have presented [it] three times with 22 points once, and with 26 points the next time," added Galstanyan.
To the remark that many accept him as a clergyman, but not as a political leader, the archbishop responded: "I have no ambition to be a political leader; I have said so from the beginning."
As for whether there is an agenda for changing their prime minister's candidate, Galstanyan said: "There is a candidate for the prime minister or not, it is conditional; the final result is important for me. If people will take responsibility, if they want to, ok. There is no ban for anyone, and I consider it right."
As for his previous statement that he is giving PM Nikol Pashinyan seven days to resign, he does not want to be on the street, and to the question whether he failed to achieve a change of power in Armenia, Galstanyan said, of course it didn't work.
"We had taken into account the high moral perceptions and state thinking of the politicians, in the last hope, that these people will ultimately come to understand that they cannot continue to lead this nation into disaster like this in our country. But it turned out that we were wrong; we had a higher opinion of them.
It will work out, everything works out in life. All things are possible to him who strives to achieve. The change of power is necessary [in Armenia]; and if it is necessary, then it is possible," said the archbishop.
He added that their tactics have changed because there is a “bloodthirsty, people-killing, lying power” before them in Armenia.
