YEREVAN. – Armenian National Assembly (NA) Speaker Samvel Nikoyan’s newly appointed chief of security, Virab Ghazaryan, and NA Deputy Chief of Staff Erik Minasyan fought inside the parliament building on Tuesday, Haykakan Zhamanak daily writes. 

 “They even punched one another and exchanged profanities. Our sources claim the incident occurred when chief of Nikoyan’s security attempted to familiarize with some financial documents on NA Staff members’ business trips and on the activities of the cafeteria. Erik Minasyan resisted these attempts by Ghazaryan, noting he [Ghazaryan] is not empowered with such authorization. This was not to Ghazaryan’s liking, and the consequence was the fight. Virab Ghazaryan was the chief of security of former PM Andranik Margaryan, and, according to some information, he is appointed chief of Nikoyan’s security upon the suggestion of Vachik Ghazaryan, the chief of security of [President] Serzh Sargsyan,” Haykakan Zhamanak writes.
