YEREVAN. – The Armenian government has not adopted social reforms introduced by the ARF Dashnaktsutyun and is holding holds tax reform partially, ARFD MP Armen Rustamyan told journalists in the parliament.

The government responded negatively to the ARFD initiative on increasing the minimum salary, while parliamentary majority did not approve it. Currently the consumer basket reaches AMD 65,000 ($171) unofficially, he said.

To note, parliamentary opposition Heritage group proposed a new scale for counting income tax rate. It is 3% if the minimum salary is AMD 70000 ($184). However, the government considered the rate less practical and made amendments to it. If previously the income tax was 10% for AMD 80,000 ($210) salary per months, currently 25% rate is set for AMD 2 million ($5,300) per month.
