YEREVAN. – The oppositional wing of the parliament should not be minority, ARF Dashnaktsutyun MP Armen Rustamyan told journalists in the Parliament on Wednesday. Some states have limit for the ruling party, thus leaving the opposition to function.

According to him, Armenia does not even have 20% opposition in the parliament. If the opposition had one third of the votes, it could have run snap sessions or propose resignations of some officials.

“We could even put forward a vote of no confidence. Therefore I turn to the society, each vote is important,” Rustamyan said.

ARFD will attentively follow the parliamentary election, he added. However, it will not be possible to control all the election processes. Meanwhile, registering violations ARFD can later appeal to the Constitutional Court, he said.

In response to one of the journalist’s remarks, Rustamyan said that ARFD does not exclude protest actions as a mechanism of struggle but does not consider it as an end in itself.
