ISTANBUL. – The activities are coming to an end toward returning to the Istanbul-Armenian community the city’s Tbrevank College.   

According to the decision adopted in Turkey in 2011, based on respective petitions, the buildings belonging to the country’s national minorities will either be returned to them, or they will receive compensation. And ever since the adoption of this decision, an initiative was launched toward returning to the Istanbul-Armenian community the city’s Tbrevank College, which is the alma mater of Hrant Dink, the founder and former chief editor of Istanbul’s Agos Armenian weekly, who was murdered in 2007.   

It is noted that the process of returning the College to the Armenian community has ended, and subsequently those Armenians who are, as well as those who are not, citizens of Turkey will be able to receive education there, Radikal daily of Turkey informs.
