YEREVAN. - Friends and fans of famous Armenian film director Sergei Parajanov gathered near his tomb in Yerevan’s pantheon to mark 88 anniversary of maestro, Zaven Sargsyan, head of Parajanov Museum said.

After the ceremony his friends and fans gathered in the museum to commemorate great director, he told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Sergei Parajanov was born in Tbilisi, Georgia, on January 9, 1921. Since 1949 he has been working as assistant to director in the Dovzhenko Film Studios in Kiev, Ukraine. He also worked for Armenfilm studios.

He is famous for his films The Color of Pomegranates, Ashik Kerib, Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors and others.
