YEREVAN.- Rallies of radical opposition in the name of Armenian National Congress (ANC) will hardly be as crowded this year as they used to be, political analyst Alexander Iskandaryan told journalists on Tuesday.

According to him, the number of protestors will be conditioned by socio-economic situation in the country.

The authorities and opposition will continue seeking consensus which was one of the key political events in Armenia in 2011. “However, the results cannot be called consensus,” he said.

The talks between ruling coalition and opposition were disrupted on the initiative of the ANC after the arrest of one of opposition activists. The ANC voiced intention to hold a regular wave of rallies starting from February up to the parliamentary elections scheduled for May.
