YEREVAN. – What is the reason behind Armenian Central Election Commission’s initiative, according to which electoral districts are to be restructured? The opposition’s Free Democrats Party member, former FM Alexander Arzumanyan, and the ruling coalition’s Republican Party of Armenia MP Artak Davtyan reflected on this question during a press conference on Wednesday.    

Davtyan noted that this is conditioned on the change in the number of voters in the electoral districts. “Five years have passed, and the number of voters has changed,” he said. And in response, Arzumanyan said: “As a result of the ruling [political] party’s ‘skilled’ policy, emigration has reached such volumes that the electoral districts are changing.”    

In Alexander Arzumanyan’s words, “several ‘goodfellas’ sit down, before the elections, and decide on how to enter the parliament, and it is done just like that.”
