YEREVAN. – It is not excluded that Armenian parliamentary opposition Heritage and ARF Dashnaktsutyun parties stand for the initiative of transferring the parliament into 100% proportional electoral system in order to have oligarchs in their voting lists as well, ruling Republican Party MP Lernik Aleksanyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

He also believes that as far as the political system is not stable and parties do not completely cover the political field, transference into proportional system will deprive non-party people of being elected MPs.

“There are people who are elected through the majoritarian system, not being oligarchs, but enjoying huge political authority, for example, the MP Victor Dallakyan,” Aleksanyan said adding there is no difference between majoritarian and proportional systems. “If a person wants to be an MP just for money, it is possible in either system.”
