The next round of Israeli-Lebanese talks will start Thursday in Washington.

Beirut is preparing to mediate, proposing to extend the current ceasefire that expires in the coming days for another month, AFP reports.

And Hezbollah may agree to indirect talks mediated by the US, according to an anonymous representative of this movement.

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar noted that Tel Aviv does not have serious disagreements with Lebanon. According to him, the main obstacle to peace and normalization of Israel-Lebanon relations is Hezbollah.

Despite the current ten-day ceasefire, the two parties have recorded a number of violations. New Israeli strikes on Lebanese territory and civilian casualties are reported, including Al Akhbar newspaper reporter Amal Khalil. As per Lebanese authorities, the death toll from the escalation since March has reached at least 2,454.
