YEREVAN. - The rally of Congress-PPA [i.e. People’s Party of Armenia] bloc has kicked off in Yerevan’s Liberty Square.

The participants are holding the flags of Armenia and banners urging peace.

Deputy Chairmen of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) Aram Manukyan, Levon  Zurabyan, as well as leader of PPA Stepan Demirchyan are on the tribune.

ANC leader and first president of Armenia, Levon Ter-Petrosyan hasn’t yet arrived at the square: it is yet unknown whether he will take part in it. The latter didn’t take part in the election campaign and gave interviews on TV only twice.

“As long as we exist and struggle, money and bribes decide nothing. We are deciding the fate of our children,” Manukyan told the attendees. In his words, Armenia should follow the peaceful path. “Those who have won will also achieve peace.”

Following the rally, a “Peaceful march” is scheduled to take place.
