Warrants have been issued for two people wanted over the St. Petersburg metro bombing, the Russian Interfax news agency reports, citing a source in the law enforcement authorities.

“Warrants have been issued for two people wanted on suspicion of preparing the blasts: one of them placed the explosive device, which went off later, in a train carriage, while the second left the bomb at Vosstaniya Square,” the source said.

He also recalled that the second explosive device disguised as a fire extinguisher was defused.

The blast occurred at 2:20pm on a train leaving the Technology Institute station and heading to the Sennaya Ploshad station. According to the National Anti-terrorist Committee, 10 people were killed and 97 hospitalized with wounds and traumas.
