Iranian Armenian woman Talin Mansourian has received a high post in Iran.

The National Iranian Oil Company informed that it has appointed Mansourian as the new head of its Income and Investment Committee, Arevelk reported citing IRNA news agency.

As per the source, becoming the person in charge of this committee is considered to be extremely important in the country, especially now because Iran is in a dire economic situation.

The White House invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to Washington, the US Security Advisor John Bolton told reporters in Tbilisi on Friday.

Lebanese Armenian Harout Houssigian, 27, has died as a result of an unfortunate accident in Lebanon.

The incident occurred Thursday in primarily Armenian-populated Bourj Hammoud town, reported Aztag Armenian daily of capital city Beirut.

The young man fell down from the window of the 9th floor of a building during a raging storm, and died on the spot.

At Friday’s meeting, the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs and Protection of Human Rights gave its approval to the package of amendments to the Electoral Code, and for the second time.

But the proposal to remove the provision on disclosure of state secrets was accepted unanimously.

The committee had already given its consent to this bill once before, but this proposed law was not passed at the NA plenary session.

The Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) will run in the snap parliamentary election as a radical-constructive opposition, Vahram Baghdasaryan, head of the National Assembly (NA) faction of the former ruling party, noted during Friday’s briefings at parliament.

He said the RPA will soon convene a congress, during which the final format for their running in this election will be determined, and the list of their MP candidates will be prepared.

Also, he did not rule out that the RPA might not win parliamentary seats at all.

Armenian Revolutionary Federation never participate in secret political processes, because its credo is different, Armen Rustamyan, head of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Dashnaktsutyun Party faction at the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, noted during Friday’s briefings at parliament.

According to him, they will participate independently in the elections.
